I was always quite confident with my make-up skills but I decided to try a 2-lesson make-up course with Kalam after realising that the make-up styles I have used for the past 20 years may need some updating to suit my now mature features and enhance them to appear more youthful without looking unnatural.
Kalam is very experienced and knowledgeable, her approach is super friendly, she puts you at ease and teaches you really useful, inexpensive tips. I didn’t feel like a dumdum even after finding out I’ve not been applying the best way for my complexion or features. Learnt a lot and I’d definitely recommend a lesson as an amazing gift for a girlfriend, relative or as a treat-yourself.

Ka Lam was recommended to me for my wedding by a friend in the fashion industry. I didn't have any idea of looks I wanted, or any reference looks. Ka Lam immediately put me at ease and put together the perfect look based on my dresses, ash purple hair, and ambiance of the location. It held up from 10am to 10pm no problem. 100% would look for her again

I got recommended Kalam by my best friend who used her for her own wedding. Kalam was really helpful answering questions leading up to the wedding day, arranging 3 other MUAs for the in laws and my mum (who were all great too). She is fantastic at make up and understood my facial features perfectly to give me a flawlessly glam yet natural look. Application of individual eyelashes was perfect too.

Thank you for your lesson and doing my daughter’s makeup for her performance. She had a great time and I am sure she will benefit from what she has learnt when she is older.

Communication was great from the get go. She was prompt in her responses and though I didn't totally know what look I wanted, she was able to come up with ideas and talk it out with me.

The day of the service was just as great! Her studio was welcoming and cozy. And a bonus, conveniently located by the MTR. I felt very much at ease the whole time while she was getting me ready.

I was very happy with the final look and it definitely complemented my dress! She even put in beautiful pins to my hairdo to make sure I looked extra special for the pictures

I had an enjoyable private session with Ka Lam and my two friends last week. She took the time to listen to my style choices I wanted to try pre and during the class. She worked quickly and packed a lot in during our session including basic foundation technique with clear instructions on what she was doing and the products she was using throughout the entire process. It was great she gave us the extra time and attention even though she had a packed schedule. It's obvious that she takes pride in her work and genuinely enjoys making others feel good about themselves.

I cannot recommend Ka Lam highly enough. She is a true artist and loves her work. Beyond that, she is a lovely, friendly and warm person.

I attended KaLam's makeup lessons, and had fun learning the basics of applying makeup. She's a very good teacher, and gave us personalised advice for my skin colour, skin tones and lifestyle.

I was attending an event which I needed both hot and makeup done. I wanted a subtle natural look for my makeup. Kalam perfectly matched makeup color and hair to the dress that I was wearing and made me feel flawless! Doing the session at her studio in central was convenient and gave her all the makeup options she has, which is ALOT!

I bought Kalam’s brushes and I love them! I bought them after doing a workshop with Kalam to achieve a bridal look for my wedding. The instructions weren’t complicated and it’s given me a lot more confidence to wear event makeup in the future. Kalam and her team provided a wonderful hair and make-up service for me and my bridal party on my wedding day.
In our pre-wedding trial, she listened to what I liked and didn't like and made changes accordingly. Then, on the big day Kalam helped me relax and enjoy the moment while I was getting ready. The finished hair and make-up looks were absolutely beautiful. I found her presence very calming and she definitely made me look my best (and all my girls looked gorgeous too!)

She also refreshed my hair and make-up for the evening party. Everyone said all day how stunning my hair and make-up was - the make-up lasted all night without budging!

Kalam is an expert in her field, and a wonderful and kind person to be by your side. I would recommend her to anyone.

I didn’t have a trial session with Kalam before my marriage registration, it turned out that she knew exactly what to do with my hair and make up and it was excellent. Other than her professional skills, Kalam was very nice and kept the atmosphere relaxed. She was also quick and on time. I totally recommend Kalam to anyone who’s looking for a wedding make up/hair artist!

Kalam is great! Very professional, experienced and easy to communicate with. She made my makeup and hair styling within 1,5h! I looked very natural, beautiful and this style was a perfect much with my wedding dress. I used Kalam and her makeup assistant for my wedding. We had hair styling and makeup for three people. Throughout the process Kalam was so kind and personable. She communicated well and answered my many questions and requests. Most importantly, she listened to my vision for my makeup and hair and did a perfect job bringing it to life. I hired Ka Lam to do my makeup for my wedding after seeing her work at other weddings. She did not disappoint! From the beginning of the make up trial session, Ka Lam just knew what would work well with my skin tone and features. I didn’t have a clue what I was envisioning for my wedding makeup and Ka Lam was able to find the perfect look. She is incredibly experienced and able to work pretty quickly and skilfully. Her makeup brushes are also super soft! Love love LOVE her!

I had 2x 1.5hr make-up classes with Kalam. The lessons were really well-structured, starting with the basics like foundation then going on to eyes, brows and lips. Every steps were described and demonstrated in great details! Also, a compilation of informative class notes were provided, not only describing the lesson content but also providing some top-quality make up products to be used for each step. This saved me so much time from finding the right products for me. I also appreciate Kalam's emphasis on skin care:) She was SO passionate, SO kind and SO knowledgable in makeup and art! I was a complete newbie to make up and I can confidently say now that I can do my own makeup:) Definitely recommend to anyone, whether you want to start learning makeup or want to spice up your makeup game!

Great job. We went to her studio on the way to wedding registration. It's 'within 10 minutes walk to cotton tree marriage registration. WiFi available.
She really did a great job at my makeup, it's exactly the style I wanted.
Communication was great and she is fun.
We borrowed the hair decorations and returned it another day.
She also recorded the process of makeup, its fun to watch the changing.

Kalam turned me into a total Glamazon! The humidity in HK is super high and my hair usually drops and my make up is gone within an hour of stepping outside. With Kalam, my make up stayed all night without need for any touch ups despite eating and drinking. My hair stayed full of body and looked fantastic in photos. I have never received so many compliments! I can't wait to use her services again. She even sent me off with some extra bobby pins and a Charlotte Tilbury lipliner, just in case. Five gold stars.

Kalam was really good and professional. She did both my hair and makeup for my wedding and I was very happy with her work. She knew exactly what I wanted and both hair and makeup lasted the whole night! I will definitely use her again in the future and recommend her to my friends.

I booked Kalam for my make-up and hair styling on my wedding day. Kalam came to our hotel room super on time in the early morning, even if on a Sunday, and she worked so efficient and elegantly with her tools, super organized and in time.
She did a fantastic job, getting exactly the style I wanted and following all my comments from the first trial we had a week ago. Communication was great. She added some fresh flowers beautifully, and and brought some jewellery hair decorations to be used and borrowed just in case. She recorded the whole process of makeup and hair with time lapse, such a great idea and so much fun to watch, great memory for us! I definitely recommend her!
